Bio

Chad Eckhardt has spent over a decade leading various businesses within established Original Equipment Manufacturers in the electrical distribution and power quality markets. He offers a proven track record of commercializing technology from advanced R&D centers, transforming early stage concepts into customer-driven, state-of-the art solutions with convincing value propositions. Chad’s distinguished product launch experience is extensive. His education includes electrical engineering at Milwaukee School of Engineering and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. Chad’s passion is modernizing the electrical grid through improving efficiency, integrating renewable’s, and improving reliability.

Mark Ventura
VP, Engineering + Manufacturing

Bio

Mark Ventura makes products come to life. Throughout over 30 years of experience, he has consistently commercialized, then launched hardware products with software components in both the networking and energy markets. This includes repeatedly progressing products from the laboratory to the market in both early stage and established companies.  Mark is an experienced leader, having built long-lasting engineering teams that have produced enduring products.  His passion for the intelligent power space, hands-on technical approach, and overall fortitude make him an essential addition to the team.

Dr. Gary Bulman
Research Programs Director

Bio

Dr. Gary Bulman brings to GridBridge over 30 years of expertise in leading research programs related to advanced semiconductor devices and their application.  His extensive hands-on experience in research and development spans small to large companies, as well as for-profit and non-profit R&D organizations.  For example, his scientific contributions at Cree led to several advancements in SiC and GaN technology, while his leadership at RTI international has resulted in numerous successful federal and privately funded programs.  Holding a PhD in Physics from the University of Illinois-Urbana, he has over 75 published papers and 5 patents.

Dr. Steinar Dale
Scientific Advisor

Bio

Dr. Steinar Dale offers GridBridge an ideal mix of scientific leadership and industry experience.  As the retired Director of Florida State University’s Center for Advanced Power Systems, he led cutting edge research within a broad area of power delivery systems.  Prior to his university work, he spent nearly 30 years within industry at ABB, Oakridge National Lab, and Westinghouse R&D.  As and IEEE Fellow, his expertise with improving power systems is immense and is documented through numerous publications.

Dr. Johan Enslin
Scientific Advisor

Bio

Dr. Johan Enslin brings over a 30 years of leadership in both industry and academia, in the US, Europe and South Africa. Over the course of his career Johan worked for more than 80 US, European, Asian and African power utilities, governments and industries.  He authored and co-authored more than 280 technical journal and conference papers for IEEE and other organizations, is registered Professional Engineer, Fellow of the SAIEE and Fellow of the IEEE, and holds more than 21 provisional and final patents.

Bio

Dr. Alex Huang offers an impeccable infusion of scientific leadership, as he is world renowned for his experience in advanced semiconductor and power electronics based technology for electric utility applications. He is also the Progress Energy Distinguished Professor at North Carolina State University and former Director of NSF FREEDM Systems Center. A fellow of IEEE, he has notable inventions and accolades, with a PhD from Cambridge University. Alex has published more than 300 papers in journals and conference proceedings, and holds 15 US patents.
